127. Dissolve (poem)

~ Written by Danielle N. Bilski ~

Dissolve

She says,
‘When the light inside me flickers,
My kiss turns your lips to ice,
Feeling my warmth dissipate,
You can turn around, let me slowly slip away,
Or will you move closer, hold me tighter,
Re-light the spark,
Love me back to life?

‘Can you remind me who I am,
Remember who I used to be?
So I can become more than,
another unsolved mystery.
Noone else can re-ignite my fire,
Noone else can capture my helpless soul,
Noone else can love me hard enough,
Please hurry, before I completely dissolve.’

He says,
‘Darling, I remember the sound of your laugh,
Your smile’s brighter than the sun reflecting off the sea,
Honestly, you are worth more than,
all of my favourite memories.
Let’s re-iginite your fire,
I’ll protect your precious soul,
I will love you hard enough,
I promise, I’ll never let you dissolve.

‘When I see the light inside you fade,
My kiss will set your lips on fire,
I won’t let you disappear,
I’ll keep you in my safest place.
Baby, come here, come closer,
let your body melt against mine,
Everything will be alright,
I’ll love you back to life, every night.’

126. Hidden hearts (poem)

~ Written by Danielle N. Bilski ~

Hidden hearts

When she writes,
She writes,
She feels truly alive,
But what is she actually saying?
Being a part of this beautiful-crazy world,
What role is she actually playing?
If I can never figure her out,
Maybe I’m not supposed to,
It’s enough to be right by her side,
And that’s the closest anyone can get to her truth.

Her life is a series of Polaroid selfies,
Pegged to fairy lights across her bedroom wall.
The camera captures all of her smiles,
But it does not catch her whenever she falls.
When she cries,
She cries,
She feels broken inside,
I will offer clarity.
I’ll say,
‘To follow your heart does not make you weak.
In fact, it’s the only way to be free.’
